Run the cook

Live Pit Tracker

Log your probe readings as the cook goes. It works out how fast the meat is climbing, calls the stall when it hits, and tells you the clock time to expect for wrap and pull.

What it hands you, on the phone in your pocket.

Why it exists

A probe tells you where the meat is. It does not tell you where the meat is going. Log a few readings here and you get the rate of climb in degrees per hour, and from that, the time you can actually expect to pull. Then you know whether to open a beer or start the sides.

What it does

Rate of climb, not just temperature

A straight-line fit through your readings from the last hour. Two readings and it starts talking.

A finish time on the clock

How long is left and what time that is, for the wrap temperature and the pull temperature, on every meat you have on.

Calls the stall and says so

Under 3°F an hour for 45 minutes between 145 and 175°F is the stall, not your fire. It says so, tells you the three ways out, and marks the finish estimate as rough until the climb picks back up.

Spritz timer and a handoff

A 30 to 90 minute reminder with an alert on screen. When you pull, one tap sends the whole cook to the Smoker Logbook.

Three steps, start to finish

Start a cook, name it, and add the meats with their targets.

Log the internal temperature whenever you check it.

Watch the rate and the finish time settle as the readings build up.

Who it is for

The cook who checks temps anyway and wants those numbers to be worth something. Especially good on the long overnight cooks where the question at 3 a.m. is whether you can sleep another two hours.

What it will not do

It does not connect to a wireless probe. You type the readings in, which takes five seconds and keeps the whole thing working with no signal in the yard. Targets are probe-tender guidance, and the probe still decides.

Questions

Does it need internet?

No. Everything runs on the phone in your hand and stays there. Aeroplane mode in a field with no bars is exactly what it was built for.

Can I track a brisket and chicken thighs at the same time?

Yes. Add as many meats as you have on, each with its own target, wrap temperature and readings.

What happens if I close the tab?

The cook is saved on the device. Open it again and everything is where you left it, readings and all.
